A music and dance performance by the Spanish group Magios, which will feature works of the great Spanish composers of the 18th century, will open this year's Antiqua Festival. The well-established festival of early music will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. The evening of August 5th will be a true Baroque Fiesta, offering acoustic pleasures and culinary delights. Renowned ensembles such as Capella de Ministres, Ars Combinatoria, and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra will take the audience on a journey back in time; concertgoers will be able to enjoy mouthwatering food and captivating wines during the concert. The anniversary celebrations will start at dawn and continue late into the night. A solo organ recital given by Andreas Liebig on August 9th will take the audience on a journey further north: this programme is dedicated to German composers Georg Böhm and Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert series closes on August 12th with the Bozen Baroque Orchestra, directed by Claudio Astronio. The ensemble with perform Alessandro Stradella’s oratorio La Susanna for five voices and instruments; soloists will include Gemma Bertagnolli and Isabel Alvarez, among others.
